NOTE: As of August 18, 2025, Dr. Barna is retired from general ENT and surgical cases. He continues to see new and existing sleep medicine patients, but ONLY those patients, with availability reduced for now to one half-day per week in our Countryside office on Wednesday mornings.
James S. Barna, MD
“I most enjoy the doctor/patient interaction and being able to offer the best treatment plan possible. The advancements in hearing health, along with less invasive surgeries and staying current, also make my profession a joy. I try to focus on the reason the patient is seeing me and what they hope to go away with. Sometimes that means relief of symptoms. Sometimes it means reassurance that there is nothing seriously wrong. I explain complex issues with diagrams and models and try to involve family members when appropriate.”
